After more than two years break from deviantART I return. I don't know if I will be very active, but I will try to upload some of my newer creations.
For the few interested people I'll reintroduce myself.
I'm Tristan and as of now I'm eighteen years old. I graduated high school last summer. I enrolled in the RijksUniversiteit Groningen and started studying Mathematics and Physics. After a mere three days I decided to switch Physics for Computer Science, which was more interesting. Just a week ago I decided to stop with CS to have more time for studying Mathematics (which I believe is more suitable for me) and things like drawing and music. Perhaps I'll finish my first year Computer Science next year. Mathematics is a lot of fun and I believe it only gets better as I keep studying, so I'm very happy here at RUG. (:
In february 2010 I uploaded a picture of an album cover for my band The Black Leaves
Actually we recorded a few home demo's and later in 2010 (august I believe) we recorded our first EP (a mini album, you can find it here: www.youtube.com/user/TheBlackL…
) in our drummer's attic. Actually we were called "Sold for two pence" by then, because we kicked our bassist out of the band...
A few months later we merged with two of my friends and we created the band Sprokkelhout
(Dutch for deadwood, randomly-chosen nice-sounding name). Actually we're doing pretty well so far and we recorded another demo EP in the cellar (you can listen to it here, but it's not as good as we play now www.youtube.com/user/Sprokkelh…
). Currently we play a few gigs a year and have just finished recording our newest EP, this time we went to a recording studio. If everything goes according to plan it should be released somewhere near the end of April.
In the sparse spare time I have I make my own recording. You can listen to them here www.youtube.com/vsotvep
I traded Windows for Mac and, in my opinion, it is a very blissful switch. OS X works great for making music, art or writing programs (at least a lot better than Windows)
In september 2011 I suffered from a collapsed lung. It took me 2.5 weeks to leave the hospital, but I'm doing great right now. Hopefully I'll never have to undergo something like this again...
In the past two years I drew a few things (not as much as I should have), so I'll be uploading the better part of them tomorrow.
If you read all those letters above, I thank you for reading (: ~Tristan
